Not to alarm you but could it be spider bites? I buddy of mine told me that he kept getting bit. Finally after a few weeks after this he looked under his bed and found a spider nest… Just something to keep in mind…
i just finished reading your entire blog and this last entry has me wondering: what happened?! did you really get reinfested? did you ever find a bug?
we’re on day 3 of our bed bug ‘adventure.’ (i’m in western Canada.) we only ever found one live and one dead bug, so it seems our problem is ‘light.’ we were sprayed yesterday. i found your situation to be similar to ours and reading your blog made the whole thing seem ‘doable’ so thanks for that.
Amber, pure superstitious paranoia has prevented me from posting about what happened last year, but yes – a few nights later I woke up at 5 am and found a bed bug biting my shoulder. I had a crazed two weeks where I found a new apartment, packed and moved, was still getting bites, did all my laundry again and threw out half my furniture again, and got a bed bug-sniffing dog to go through my stuff before the movers came. He “found” them in four places – a painting, my bed, my futon, and a plastic pail – which seemed illogical, but I ended up not taking any of those items except for my futon. I was fine in the new place. The bites from the old place were really bad this time. I had a huge four-inch red welt on my left arm from a cluster of three bites.
OH no. I just found your blog from bedbugger.com. I am also in Queens (Jackson Heights) and just starting through this nightmare.
Did you use your McCulloch Steamer on any area rugs? I am considering buying one for that purpose.

Are you sure it’s a bedbug? Can it possibly be something else?
