Day 19: Just takes time?
I found another similar maybe-bite. Very itchy, perfectly round… I’m pretty sure this is how my June bed bug bites started – the only difference is that I leave these alone – they get bigger and then they go away after an hour instead of turning into red welts. I took a picture of this third bite but it’s too depressing to post.
If these ARE bed bug bites, though, I’m nearing the twenty day mark with very little to show for it. I have thrown an enormous amount of time and money at this problem… and I’m getting bit at about the same frequency as I was before. I think I need to drill holes in my wall. My floors are covered in pesticide and there have been no sights of any live bugs since 7/1. They have to be harboring in my wall, and the trip from there to my bed, even with the residual, is not enough to kill them off.
Only time will tell. I’ll give it a few more weeks before I call my PCO. I have a two-week vacation coming up August 19, so that’s a good deadline to reassess everything. It doesn’t help that it’s freaking hot in this town.
