Day Six: My Bedbuggy Nights
I was most definitely in a Wong Kar Wai movie last night. (Seriously, wouldn’t that be the awesomest thing, if Wong Kar Wai had decided to remake Arachnophobia with bedbugs?)
I got back late (11:00ish pm) to air out the apartment and wanted to stay out for at least one and half hours while it aired out. But where was I going to go in Queens that was cheap or free, air-conditioned, safe, comfortable, close to home, and open until at least 1:00 am? I was not feeling the Woodside Irish pub scene just then, or Zabb or any other late night restaurant, and don’t have good friends within walking distance. I was considering doing a load of laundry at the 24-hour laundromat on Roosevelt Ave. and 72nd St., knowing deep down that I was way too tired for that, when it hit me–the 7 train! I rode the full loop only once (although the train stalled at 33rd St. for a long time), and got home around 12:30 am, where the bed bugs were only just a metaphor for my broken heart.

[...] Oh, by the way? My favorite Unlucky in Bugs post is Day Six: My Bedbuggy Nights. [...]
